At Cardinal UHP, we specialize in delivering ultra-high purity (UHP) stainless steel tubing that meets the most demanding standards of the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries. Our proprietary cleaning and finishing process ensures that every tube is free from contaminants and optimized for corrosion resistance and cleanliness.
The process begins with a thorough material receipt and inspection, followed by electropolishing (EP) of both coil and stick tubing. This critical step uses advanced EP machines to remove surface imperfections and reduce surface roughness, enhancing the tubing’s corrosion resistance and cleanliness. After electropolishing, the tubing undergoes a series of ultra-pure rinses using deionized (DI) water and nitric acid baths to passivate the surface, removing free iron and forming a protective chromium oxide layer.
Each tube is then laser engraved for traceability, hand-cleaned, and visually inspected for defects. Final rinsing and drying are performed in an ISO Class 4 cleanroom using hot nitrogen gas to ensure zero particulate contamination. The tubing is then capped, double-bagged, and packaged for shipment in a controlled environment, ensuring it arrives in pristine condition.
Cardinal UHP’s process is meticulously controlled and documented, ensuring consistent quality and compliance with the highest UHP standards.
